A high level official Chilean delegation, headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Alfredo Moreno Charme, visited India in early August 2012. The delegation met Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Indian Minister for New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) and other senior officials to discuss opportunities to cooperate on renewable energy initiatives, including solar photovoltaics (PV).
