Novethic – Overview of ESG Rating Agencies – September 2013

In early October 2013 Novethic, the French research center specializing in responsible investment and CSR, published the second edition of its panorama of non-financial rating agencies. The report is based mainly on publicly-available information found on the websites of the agencies analyzed as of April 2013.

In the introduction, Novethic explains:

“This report aims to provide an overview of the range of ESG-related products and services available to investors. In light of the multiplicity of actors providing ESG ratings for all kinds of activities, Novethic has chosen to limit itself to those that provide such services to investors.

The agencies have been broken down by category (non-specialised international agencies, specialised agencies and local agencies). Within each category, they are listed in alphabetical order or by region.”

The report covers agencies in the following developed markets:  Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US; as well as the following emerging markets:  China, India, Israel, Mexico and South Korea.

You may download the report on the SRI & CSR reports page of the Novethic internet site.
