“Regulators to set up task force to develop sustainable finance” – Asia Asset Management – September 25, 2017

Asia Asset Management reported on September 25, 2017 that emerging markets members of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) have established a task force to develop sustainable finance.

IOSCO’s Growth and Emerging Markets (GEM) committee held its annual meeting and conference in Sri Lanka on September 20-21, 2017.  At the event, the committee issued a statement in which members committed to establishing a task force to accelerate development of sustainable finance.

According to the article, “Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) Chairman Ranjit Ajit Singh, who is also vice chairman of the IOSCO board, says in the statement that the decision to set up the task force ‘is aligned with SC’s efforts in advancing Malaysia’s position as a leading Islamic finance centre and its value proposition as a centre for sustainable finance.’”
