“Nigeria issues Climate Bonds Certified Sovereign Green Bond” – Institutional Asset Manager – December 20, 2017

On December 20, 2017 Institutional Asset Manager reported that “Nigeria has become the first nation to issue a Climate Bonds Certified Sovereign Green Bond, the first African nation to issue a sovereign green bond and only the fourth nation in the world to issue after Poland, France, and COP23 President, Fiji.”

The five -year NGN 10.69 billion bond will finance afforestation, environmental and renewable energy projects.
